Bella Vista

BELLA VISTA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS COMMUNITY INFORMATION

Bella Vista is a city in Benton county, Arkansas. First established in 1917, as a summer resort, Bella Vista has evolved and redesigned itself over the past few decades. In 1965, the town evolved into a premier retirement community, and decades later, in 2006 the city had the chance to redesign itself once again. With the vote of Bella Vista’s property owners, the community became the incorporated city it is today. In the last few years, Bella Vista experienced a population and building boom. Between the 2000 and 2010 censuses the population grew about 60%.

Bella Vista is located on the Springfield Plateau in the Ozark Mountains. The city is made up of many Oak and Hickory forests, along with valleys, creeks, and parks. The city is home to seven private lakes which are only accessible by members of the community. Lake Ann, Lake Windsor, and Lake Loch Lomond are the largest all-sports lakes in the town. Lake Avalon, Lake Norwood, and Lake Rayburn are primarily fishing lakes. Bella Vista also has many trails, including Tanyard Creek Nature Trail, Bella Vista Back 40 Trailhead, and Blowing Springs Park. These trails are great for hiking, mountain biking, or just walking.

Bella Vista Museum, Wishing Spring Gallery, Highlands Golf Course, and Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel are just some of the most popular places here. In the Bella Vista Museum, you can see the history of the city and state. Love arts and crafts festivals?
